National News: FDA takes new look at raw milk cheese
How come I didn't know until now about The Cheese Reporter? This is definitely my kind of journal! Sadly, they're reporting that the FDA is taking a closer look at raw milk cheeses and considering mandatory pasteurization. Yay, Cheese Reporter. Boo... FDA.

There has been a push for quite some time to ban all raw milk cheese in the US. Ironically NYS does not take samples of raw milk cheeses for laboratory analysis because historically they don't find any bacteria while they sample cheeses made with pasteurized milk every month.
