Local news: NY's female farmers unite, a book on conscious food choices

NYC agriculture lawyer Cari Rincker is starting a New York chapter of American Agri-Women. They're joining up with folks through Facebook, Twitter, and a Google Group. To join them you can also email newyorkagriwomen@gmail.com.

The folks at Fleisher's recommend a new book by Alexandra Zissou. To quote: "We LOVE her meat chapter (and just to be honest, she does quote us often) and we especially like the section on navigating the supermarket. But really we like it all and since reading it, we’ve been
throwing out plastic food containers, stocking up on wax paper and
reveling in our cast-iron and French steel pans (who knew that grandma
was right all along, they ARE the best!)."
