My current issue, a pet peeve I have is the amount of sugar, honey, corn syrup, sweeteners, synthetic crap etc. that is used in 'Everything'. What's up with that? Its a cheap substitute for making dishes taste good. Time to get serious and change this up, we have a huge health problem in this country, we're a nation of sickness, obesity, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer....
Tomato sauce does not need sugar, glazed carrots do not need sugar, salad dressings does not need sugar, grilled meats do not need sugar, soups, chili, etc. Don't get me wrong I love to eat sweet but not in everything! Actually, desserts could all be a little less sweet. I mean really the chocolate cookie doesn't even taste like chocolate, but hold on it tastes like SUGAR. People, sugar is completely unnecessary and it's time to get a little more creative in the kitchen! Start using spices, cinnamon, allspice, sweet potatoes, carrots, vidalia onions, tomato paste etc...
We need to feed our children with real food. Enough with the easy way out stop the madness!
