"Hi Kim, The Hudson Valley Seed Library has some really good tips on this over at their site. Some of the noteworthy points I learned from them are to only prune when the plants are dry on a sunny day, and to get rid of stems that are touching the…"

Pruning Tomatoes

This year, finally, my tomatoes are doing really well.  I was curious about tips for pruning.  Last year my heirlooms got so tall they were unstakable and became a big jungle of tomatoe plant mess.  Is it recommended ever to cut the tops of the plants in order to promote more bushyness and flowering?  I do prune the sucker shoots but wasn't sure what else to do. Thanks in advance.   See More

Pest Control Question

Each year my zuccini plants are attacked by small centipede like pests.  They burrow into my zuccini plants and destroy them.  This year I only got one zuccini out of 4 beautiful plants.  Any advice?  They don't bother any other of my vegetables.
