New Paltz area folks - Share a 1/4 side of local beef

Hey Folks,
Looking for about 6 people to share some beef. A quarter is about 100 lbs. and includes a variety of cuts. A cubic foot of freezer space will hold 35-40 lbs of beef.

So far I've found three options:
Awesome Farm, $4 a pound (must order soon!) or about $66 per person
Brykill Farm, $8 a pound (raised by an HVFN member!)
Moveable Beast Farm, about $7 a pound

All are grass fed. Brykill also feeds organic grain.

I'm in.

I declare that we must name the cow. Accepting submissions at this time.

If the cow already has a name, I propose that we christen our quarter with a name.

Today I was at Gardiner Animal Hospital and a woman who grew up on a farm frm the area recalled when she was a child her parents didn't allow her and her siblings to name their livestock pet names - therefore the clever kids chose names like hamburger, potroast, brisket, bacon, short ribs - you get it. We had quite a chuckle coming up wih more.

I'm definitely interested in sharing - we did it last year and loved it - interestingly the person I shared my 1/4 cow with and I were both mostly interested in the non prime cuts - chucks, stew, ground meat - all of it was GREAT
