I'm so happy to have finally joined the Hudson Valley Food Network - it's a wonderful site! Charles and I of Movable Beast Farm want to introduce ourselves and let you know that we are just beginning to market our 2010 product. Charles began raising beef cows about 7 years ago here in the Hudson Valley beginning as a herdsman on  Polly and Jay Armour's Four Winds Farm and then starting  his own, movable, farm. It's "movable" for 2 reasons. When grazing, the herd moves to fresh pasture every day; and in order to give them all the grass they need, we transport them to a number of different sites during the grazing season. They only eat what grows in the various pastures as well as hay and balage in the winter and get no antibiotics, hormones or similar interventions. We now have 55 animals who are so very contented now that the grazing season has gotten off to such an early start. We sell in a variety of ways though our main method is by the whole, half, or 1/4 of an animal. More details on that to follow.

this is from April, is it too late for a 1/4?
Hi Hatti, We do have this year's beef available now. Are you still interested? Our website is http://movablebeastfarm.wordpress.com I look forward to hearing back from you
Hi Charles and Francesca,

I'm so excited about getting my meat tomorrow - (splitting a 1/4 with a friend) - did it last year and it was awesome, thanks for providing such an amazing, healthy life to the cows! On Saturday I bought a small (7 sq. ft) freezer ($179 at Lowes) - won't have to fill my vegetarian neighbors' boxes this time!
