First it was the carrot seedlings. Then half the eggplant seedlings disappeared. Then this weekend several broccoli were gone, all neatly chewed away leaving only the root ball in the ground. Pretty sure it's a bunny. Not sure what to do about it. Any advice?

It could also be a woodchuck - I've trapped two small ones so far, with at least one more to go. The bunnies don't seem to want to make the effort to go in the garden and seem happy just munching the grass.

I've used a Havaheart trap with very good success. It is supposed to work on bunnies as well. Check out:  http://www.havahart.com/?gclid=CIXp3eTRnakCFUho5QodCWQ9tg

Make sure you get the right size for the animal you are trying to trap.

I've used celery, melon rinds and salted peanuts in the trap which worked well (all together - a veritable woodchuck buffet). They did not go for carrots.

Good luck!

you could plant wormwood as a barrier around or your garden. It is a deterrent with a very bitter taste. It is a natural plant, but it will taste awful and leave them with a tummy ache. It won't actually harm them though, however they will think twice before eating your plants again.
thanks jessica! what a great solution. we redid the deer fencing around the garden this year, so i took a closer look and saw lots of gaps for critters to get in. so i did secure it better. but i love the idea of a botanical deterrant! cool stuff.
