One of my favorite pastimes is giving away home-brewed beer...I like to drink my creations myself, but most of the fun is in sharing it. Part of it is pride, part of it is perhaps getting tired of the same beer style!

Is there any interest in having a HVFN Homebrewing meetup, under the auspices of swapping bottle-for-bottle with other members? We could open a few, have some food, trade techniques, and walk away with a greater variety.

Hey. I'm all for it! I guess you posted this a while ago, but I just joined and found this great site. Anyway, homebrewing meetups or group brews would be terriffic.

Glad to have found this site!

I've been thinking about this, except we could broaden it to include preserves! We could also have some skill-sharing going on as well. I'd love to learn how to make some good hard cider...
Yes! Hard cider, preserves, beer, maybe more stuff. Sit and enjoy the combined fruit of our labors, and bloviate on our amazing skill in creating such wonders.

Unfortunately I am out of homebrew! Oh noes!
This sounds like a great event for ANY home made products and a swap(barter) !
Well I'm plannig to brew on Sunday if anyone wants to stop by. Then in a few weeks I plan to take some yeast from this brew and make hard cider with it. Making cider is really easy to do, but it does take some humble patience if you want to age it. Or you can dispense with that patience stuff and dive right into it--either way.

Anyone available Sunday? I"ll probably start around 11:00 and it's kind of an all-day thing, though obviously no one need stay all day. I'm in Marlboro.

I'll be mushroom hunting today. I'd love to meet up when you're doing the cider. Maybe I can trade you some cider for some yeast?
Sounds good. I'm thinking of doing the cider maybe the 17th. Hope that works for you and whoever else would like to join.

Happy hunting (on the) grounds!
