Terrific Idea! Here are some of my favorites

Hyde Park Brewery

Micro-brews, good food, and always a vibrant bar scene.

Half Time

Store, micro-brews, growlers, glassware, and over 1800 brews!
I'd like to give a shout-out to all the "normal" Hudson Valley bars and restaurants that stock local beer. I have a lot of local pride in breweries like Keegan Ales, and it makes me very happy to see their beers in stock (especially on tap!) at a regular bar.

While they might not be "beer bars" in the snooty-tooty, high-falootin' way of a dozen different Belgians Quads in the cellar and a slew of rotating double IPA taps, they are doing a very important thing for keeping Hudson Valley beer alive and strong.

As for actual beer bars, I'm fairly ignorant in the HV area. I'm watching this thread and eager to learn.
Market Market, Rosendale. Keegans. Excellent local-meat burgers.
The Dutch Ale House

255 Main St.
Village of Saugerties

They post current beers on tap on the website... AND they just hired a new chef.
good stuff... check it out.
they do a killer burger!
Thanks for posting about us! We really appreciate it!

-Cave Mountain Brewery in Windham! Freshest beer I ever tatsed!
good food too.

-Wayneright Brewing at Tropic-Al's BBQ Review in Athens: Cool esoteric brews, homemade bbq sauce and strange exotic salsas/dips/etc
Oh gosh, there's so many. This is a good discussion. I'm curious to see what everyone comes up with. I'll be adding some I'm sure!

Here's one no one mentioned yet:
The Beech Tree Grill in Poughkeepsie (1 Collegeview Ave, across from Vassar)

http://www.beechtreegrill.com/

They have some superb micro-brews. Some very interesting brews here. Plus the food is to die for. This place has been there a long time...definitely worth checking out.
Usually have something in cask on tap plus it $5 for a 20 oz 'pint' for most of their beers at Beech Tree too
Dutch Ale house in Saugerties.......good beer ok food. Got a tour of the brewery room yesterday (5/11) really cool.
Good peeps
Chatham Brewing in Chatham, NY. You can drink their beers at many local establishments, most notably Peint O'Grew on Main St in Chatham. They are also part of the Hudson Berkshire Beverage Trail (www.hudsonberkshireexperience.com).
Thanks for the shout out! Just after you were here we changed the menu. Our new focus is on fresh and unique pub food, and now we have a lot more to choose from. You have to try the burger next time you're here....
