A project that recently received big grant funding to battle childhood obesity, Health Kingston for Kids, is looking for volunteers who want to build community and school gardens. Members will work with parents, teachers, and youth to plan gardens and expand youth access to fresh produce. An information session is at 4 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Kingston Land Trust office,  280 Wall Street, 2nd Floor. For more info, email Arthur Zaczkiewicz at kingstonlandtrust@yahoo.com.

I might be interested in getting involved with this.  I have a start-up farm in Rosendale, and would love to have kids who are interested come to pick berries for the Queen's Galley.  Does that sound like something that will fit into your ideas for this venture?

Hey Laurel, I posted the info, but I'm not the organizer. Email Arthur Zaczkiewicz at kingstonlandtrust@yahoo.com.
