Ride Sharing to Events

Howdy! I personally am unable to drive for health reasons, and know that there are many other differently abled persons who cannot drive either.  Plus many people are unable to afford a car and many gave them up for eco reasons.  However, in this rural area the bus service is incredibly limited and there is no door-to-door paratransit for disabled persons.  In the spirit of community forming, expanind the numbers of persons at events, and conserving oil, I was hoping we could have a ride share board?  I know that my being in Saugerties means that I might make someone drive half an hour out of their way on both trips and I would be happy to pay something for gas.  A lot of people are being cut off from being able to support events in this area due to the transportation issues and I see so many things I want to join and cannot.  I mean, I cannot even get to a farmer's market!  In my experience ride shares work well when the person giving the ride is very clear about what money they want and also what time they will be leaving, and both parties are on time for the pick up.  Otherwise it is very frustrating.  To have community, it has to be assessible, and this area is really terrible for assessibility issues, and I thought we could work at changing that.  Thanks!
