Lazy Crazy Acres in Arkville:
We have been bottling as much milk as we can as there is a shortage in the area. Milk is available at the old Market Basket in Arkville and at Sams in Fleischmanns. Looking to borrow a 24kw generator to help with producton. Cows need milking. Please call Jake Fairbairn at 845.302.8016.

 Greenmarket in NYC, a network of farmers' markets is gathering donations for their farm vendors affected by flooding. All who give before September 30th will receive a free Greenmarket poster.

Evolutionay Organics on Springtown Road in New Paltz is underwater.  I am not sure what Kira needs help with but I know She will need a great deal of support.  Just letting her supporters know!

Taliaferro Farms in New Paltz has 17 acres, most of the fall harvest, underwater. CSA is suspended and market is closed until further notice. I have a message in to Pete to see how we can help.

I just received this list of farmers who have requested volunteer help from Crop Mob NYC. The organization is not putting together a team, but individuals can contact the farmers to offer their services.

Thanks for sharing this, Meghan! So should we tell people to be contacting these farms directly or is there a way to contact Crop Mob NYC? I couldn't find a direct webpg for them.

Challey, Crop Mob isn't able to organize groups at this time, so they suggested contacting the farms directly.

Hi Meghan and All.

I'm working now with Greenmarket on some transportation from NYC to farms in need.  They have been working on a comprehensive list of farms based on the 235 that sell in their markets to see who was affected (about 80% of their vendors) and who is in really bad shape (about 15 farms have near-total or total losses).  We'll focus on getting helping hands to those who need it most and who are equipped to handle it.

I'll definitely pass along info about Mobs as we figure them out.  I didn't see a way to do it alone and fortunately lots of other folks are working on it together now.

The Birdsall House is participating in Dine Out Irene on 9.25 - 10% of all proceeds go to help out area farmers devastated by Irene.  However, as of now there are not many Hudson Valley restaurants on board - PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD to other Valley restaurants!  We will also be tapping a cask of Captain Lawrence Freshchester Pale Ale dry-hopped with hops grown at Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture.
