Favorite Restaurant in Kingston?
Heading out this evening for a last minute dinner in the Kingston area after some errands...we usually head to The Armadillo in the Roundout but it's closed on Mondays.
Suggestions? Closer to 9W in Kingston preferred.

Elephant on Wall St...hands down.
I never leave there dissappointed....ever.
The food is incredible and I love the atmosphere too.

Well, I may be too late for your purposes, Howie, but in case others are interested: I agree Elephant is fantastic - although a little more expensive. Maxwell's Pizza Pub in the Stockade District has good personal-sized pizzas with fresh local ingredients for a nice lunch option.

For future last minute ideas on eating and drinking, two new places will be opening very soon (mid-May?) in uptown Kingston. Boitson's Restaurant, serving oysters and fried chicken (!), and Stockade Tavern, super mixology and snacks. You can fan them on Facebook for more info.
For lunch --you mentioned close to the 9W side of Kingston--try Bella Carne on Broadway in Port Ewen. They make outrageous panini, and also stock all sorts of Italian goodies (cheese, meats, etc.) They used to be on Albany Ave. but moved...and I, for one, am glad.

Agnes Devereaux of the Village Tea Room yesterday recommended Boitson's, a new place on Front Street in Kingston. Open only for dinner but open on Monday (to the delight of chefs everywhere).

in the past two weeks I've eaten at Elephant, and Maxwells. Both are mentioned above and both were FANTASTIC!!!!! The Blood Sausage, Chorizo, Cheeses, and Tacos at Elephant were just amazing! And at Maxwells you must try the beet appetizer!!!! I am going back to Maxwells for dinner tomorrow night!
