Cheesemaking Workshop anyone?
I just discovered that Sprout Creek Farm in Poughkeepsie offers cheesemaking workshops on Saturdays for individuals or groups.
The workshop includes a farm tour, a comprehensive lesson on the art and science of cheesemaking with Colin McGrath, and a tasting of at least a dozen cheeses.
Workshop hours are generally from 9AM to 1PM depending on the cheeses being made that day.
I don't have information on what this costs, but I wanted to see if there was interest to have an HVFN group outing. We could be flexible about the Saturday to accommodate the most people.

For me, a weekday activity is a challenge, but with some notice I can possibly move my work schedule to accommodate the weekday intensive course.
I would not have any interest in the shorter course. My interest was in the cheese making process itself.

Mark and I are interested in the intensive - weekdays are tough, but we should be able to work it out as long as it isn't the last week of the month ....

Weds-Thurs-Fri the last two weeks of Oct are good for me--I'd like to do the weekday intensive session. Weekends are bad, but if I'm the only weekend-worker, then maybe some of you can teach me what you learn another time!

So it seems like the right number of people can do a weekday. How about Friday the 29th? Does that give enough notice to people who need to move workdays around? I don't get my November schedule until 20Oct, so I won't know until then when I'm available for Nov.
