Butcher shops in the area
Can anyone tell me about butcher shops in the area ? I'm in putnam county, but I can travel to westchester, rockland dutchess or orange. My husband was planning on going into Manhattan but I know there must be something near by.

What are you looking for specifically?
Quattro Farm Store in Pleasant Valley (Dutchess) has a butcher. They make a lot of sausages and carry poultry from their own farm (chicken, turkey, quail, pheasant).
Fleischer's in Kingston is a sustainable butcher.
There must be something in Westchester though...

Just looking for a good place to get a few steaks and some ground beef. My husband was saying that he wanted to drive in to manhattan to go to fairway, but I'm sure we should be able to meet our needs closer to home. Just don't know where to go.

Hi Lori, Veritas Farms is at the Bronxville,NY Farmer's Market every Saturday, from 7:30 am until 1pm. We raise Scottish Highland cattle, 100% grass-fed, always on pasture. We always have ground beef as well as a variety of steaks. We also grow 8 acres of vegetables, Certified Naturally Grown, and have from our flock of Heritage breed laying hens. Our food is really exceptional, the loving care comes through!

It's not a butcher shop but I often get meat from Northwind Farms in Red Hook.

My name is Joyce Quattro. We have a custom butcher shop at our farm store in Pleasant Valley, New York. The poultry and game meats we sell in our shop come right off of our own farm. We also sell, beef, pork, lamb, veal, and many other meats. Our butcher, Paul, is a great and he will be pleased to help you. Whippowil in lakeville Ct has some amazing meat but may be a little far but worth the trip this time of year and they sell it at the farm on weekends
