Many national food buyers require, or soon will, Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) certification from farms supplying fresh food items. This series of workshops being offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension Ulster County with help from USDA and The Northeast Center for Risk Management Education is designed to assist producers in completing USDA GAP certification for their farm operations.
Day 1: Introduction to Farm Food Safety and GAP Certification, will take place on Thursday, March 4 at the New York State Agriculture Experiment Station (Hudson Valley Lab), located at 3357 Rt. 9W in Highland, NY.
Day 2: Writing your Individual Farm Food Safety Plan, will take place on Friday, March 5 at the Ulster County BOCES Conference Center located at 175 Rt. 32 in New Paltz, NY.
The cost for both days is $65 or $80 if you wish to bring a second person on day 2.
No refunds, except in case of snow closing; substitutions are allowed. Class size is limited to 30 participants. Pre-registration is required by Monday, March 1, 2010.
