Local farm ingredients featured in recipe free tasting at the Chatham Real Food Market

Taste locally inspired recipes prepared by Chefs Consortium on Saturday, February 11th from 11 AM to 3 PM at the Chatham Real Food Market. All shoppers are in for a culinary treat with the flavors of farm fresh recipes.

A crisp winter morning filled with the flavors of a winter bounty

Be prepared to taste fresh! Chefs Consortium will host a morning of home-grown cooking. The menu highlights include all-natural local and organic farm ingredients from Columbia County Farms that are within mere miles of the co-op.

• Tortilla demonstration – Fresh tortillas made from Wild Hive Farm flour
• Breakfast burritos – featuring freshly made tortillas, M Grimaldi and Sons eggs, Grazin’ Angus chorizo, and R and G cheese.
• Blue Star Farm Winter Squash puree served in crepes with Hawthorne Valley Farm maple flavored yogurt.
• Pork Braised Winter Greens – Little Seed Gardens winter greens braised with Et Cetera Farm’s pork.
• Winter Salad – featuring roots and shoots from Little Seed Gardens
• Ricotta demonstration – chefs will make fresh ricotta from Milk Thistle Farm’s milk

The Chatham Real Food Co-op

The Chatham Real Food Market Co-op is a community-owned cooperative that features more than 50 local farms and food producers, provides education about Columbia County agriculture, and promotes a localized food system.  The mission of the Chatham Food Co-op is to strengthen the rural community, develop food security, and to help build a healthy local economy in our county. The creation of the Real Food Co-op was a project of Community Agriculture of Columbia County, an educational non-profit organization dedicated to re-localizing the food system.

As part of its mission, the Chatham Real Food Co-op and Chefs Consortium are bringing you the bounty of Columbia County farms with the “Winter Tasting”. Family, friends and children are all invited. Chefs Consortium will show Saturday shoppers how easy cooking can be using fresh, locally farmed and seasonal ingredients.
