DESCRIPTION:The inaugural “A Seat at the Table” local food feast a
 nd fundraising celebration will be held in the Poughkeepsie Farm Proje
 ct farm fields. This unique event will be an al fresco dinner celebrat
 ion that brings together everyone from local farmers, chefs and food a
 rtisans, to members of the community and sitting them all together to 
 explore the connection between the earth and the food on our plate. Gu
 ests will sit at long, linen-draped tables in the middle of the fields
 , while sipping local wines and eating a five-course family style meal
  prepared by Megan and Charlie Fells of The Artist's Palate, two of th
 e Hudson Valley’s celebrated chefs, using only fresh, local ingredie
 nts for the meal. Participants of the fundraiser will also be given a 
 tour of the farm and will have a chance to view educational materials 
 and exhibits set up about the Poughkeepsie Farm Project, food and farm
 ing. The main purpose of this event is to honor the people whose good 
 work brings nourishment to the table and to celebrate The Poughkeepsie
  Farm Project, its connection to the community and its work towards a 
 just and sustainable food system.\n\nThis is a BYOP event: Bring Your 
 Own Plate. Bring that special plate with you for an even more memorabl
 e meal. Plates will be used for the main course and will be washed and
  returned to you at the conclusion of the meal. If you would like to a
